When you pass the 10th standard and reach the 11th standard, you will notice significant changes. Here, you have to decide which stream you want to opt for, whether you would like to go for Science or Commerce or Humanities. After choosing the stream, you have to deal with the vast syllabus and more subjects as compared to class 10th. Also, you will find that solving the questions which seemed to be a piece of cake in 10th grade will now seem like climbing the Himalayas with no Spikes. So, to help you in exam preparation, we are providing helpful tips to study in the 11th standard, which will help them score high marks in the exam.
1) Know the Syllabus
The first and foremost thing is to have a proper understanding of the syllabus. It would be best to go through the entire syllabus right at the beginning of the academic year. It will provide you with the details like topics name, chapters name, practical syllabus, assessment process, marking scheme, project work etc. After knowing the ISC Syllabus for Class 11, you can plan your studies accordingly.
2) Focus on Self Study
It would be best if you created a study plan for yourself. The study plan must have daily tasks for studies. It’s up to you whether you make a weekly or monthly study schedule. You must try to finish the topics mentioned for the day within that day itself. This time should be apart from the homework or tuition. Self-study will inbuild a habit of understanding the topic by yourself and will create interest in the subject. Also, you will be holding command in that subject.
3) Study from the Textbooks
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) did not recommend any specific book for ISC class 11 students. It gives you freedom to study from any book or any resource whatever you find useful and interesting. Here, you have to decide which textbook to follow. Some of the preferred ICSE Booksare like Selina, ML Aggarwal, Frank or S.Chand. You can also solve NCERT Exemplar questions to boost your preparation. The NCERT Exemplar is enough to make you understand the concept of the chapter and different types of questions. It helps you understand how to present the solutions in the exam.
4) Do Daily Revision
Revision is as important as studying. By studying new topics daily, you can forget the old concepts. So, it’s crucial that you revise the older topics. By doing so, you recall the previously studied topics, and your hold on them gets stronger. It’s recommended that you make a list of formulas or chemical reactions and paste it into your study area. So every time when you sit for studies you quickly have a look at them.
5) Understand the Concepts
You should focus on understanding the topics and concepts. Most of the students mug up the topics and answers of the questions to score high marks in the exam. Sometimes, they even mug up the mathematical solutions. Due to which they get confused and end up messing up things. The best way is to understand the concepts and then practice questions based on them. In this way, they will make their foundation strong for the higher classes.
We hope these tips will be helpful for your exam preparation. Happy Learning!
